Who are we looking for? The Valuation Analyst is an individual who is outgoing, draws energy from working with people, and is optimistic. The Valuation Analyst must be adaptable to change and be solutions oriented. They will manage the entire valuation data management process efficiently and effectively to ensure all analysis assessments are completed on time.
What will you do? These are the standards a well-above-average performer will maintain or exceed:
Demonstrate continuous commitment to the brokerage’s vision, values, and goals by nesting personal and professional goals with the brokerage.
Provide exceptional customer service throughout the entire valuation analysis process.
Oversee the data collection, data research, and data entry related to client business financial statements.
Prepare the MS Excel workbook and conduct the necessary research to build the valuation model starting from a standardized template.
Read, understand, and transcribe business financial data, such as tax returns, income statements, and balance sheets.
Perform and review for errors the business valuation model for assessing the business valuations.
Consult with the Business Certified Appraiser for methods and techniques used in the valuation process.
Work towards a report delivery pace of 2 days for analysis, 1 day of copywriting, 1 day for review and approval, and 1 day customer presentation. You will have several valuations in your queue at different stages along a similar work pace.

Essential duties and responsibilities
Manage the assessment and process timelines and follow up with key stakeholders as needed to ensure all deadlines are met.
Create and maintain accurate and compliant files for all valuation assignments.
Learn and understand the valuation models used in the analysis.
Communicate with the Business Certified Appraiser throughout the assessment process for guidance, feedback, answering questions about the valuations, and status reports.
Attend weekly team meetings by video conference.
Primarily work within MS Excel workbooks and worksheets to create and edit formulas, manage data, and perform calculations.
Knowledge/Skills
1-3 years of financial management, accounting, or similar experience; advanced education preferred; college degree optional but preferred.
Exceptional skills using MS Excel; creating and troubleshooting business financial formulas, financial ratios, and other formulas; creating various formulas with functions such as IF statements, Index/Match, pivot tables, time value of money and loan calculations, etc.
An above average interest in working with business finances and/or having business finance experience, training, certifications, or degree.
Familiarity reading and understanding business financial documents (tax returns, balance sheets, and income statements).
Understand the correlation between income statements and balance sheets and reconciling similar information with tax returns.
Own a computer/laptop with MS Office products, webcam, and internet connectivity.
People oriented, a team player, and excellent at building rapport.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; must be able to generate, submit, and present reports to teams, leadership, and clients clearly and concisely. Occasional need for public speaking.
Good organizational skills.
Compensation
This is a full-time role, estimated at approximately 35-45 hours per week with Paid Time Off (PTO) and Paid Sick Leave. Training is available and you will be reimbursed for select industry-related credentials and designations at the employers discretion and relevancy to the position. Starting pay is $20/hour with periodic pay increases based on performance, quality of work, seniority and/or length of employment, and contributions towards company goals.
