    The Busser/Dishwasher is an integral player in every aspect of Vortex operations. In the Busser role, they enhance our guests’ dining experience and are responsible for maintaining a clean and well-organized dining area. This role supports the service team by ensuring that tables are cleared, cleaned, and reset quickly and efficiently. The Dishwasher role is fundamental to our kitchen operations, ensuring that all cooking and serving utensils, as well as other miscellaneous items, are cleaned and sanitized. This role contributes to the overall cleanliness and efficiency of the kitchen and dining area, supporting the restaurant's operations and adherence to health standards. The ideal candidate will have strong teamwork skills, be well-organized, and possess excellent situational awareness.

    This position receives $8.50/hour plus a tip out based on the shift's sales. They also receive an employee meal during each shift.

    Responsibilities:

    Assist in delivering a superior dining experience by exceeding guest expectations and anticipating their needs.

    Provide a friendly greeting to guests with a warm, sincere smile.

    Handle guest challenges with tact and patience, ensuring issues are resolved to the guest’s satisfaction.

    Support the service team by assisting with the setup, service, and cleanup of food and beverages.

    Change and store empty kegs appropriately.

    Maintain strict compliance with health and safety regulations, following all cleaning and sanitation procedures.

    Complete all tasks according to the guidelines and standards set out in the Employee Handbook.

    Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support the team and ensure efficient operations.

    Maintain a steady workflow to keep up with the needs of the kitchen and dining area, preventing any backups of dirty dishes or tables.

    Ensure all cleaned items are sanitized and restocked promptly to their proper places.

    Monitor and maintain the condition of dishwashing equipment, reporting any issues or malfunctions to management.

    Keep track of cleaning supplies and promptly notify management when replenishment is needed.

    Assist in keeping the back of the house and restrooms clean and orderly.

    Manage waste disposal efficiently, ensuring garbage areas are kept clean and tidy.

    Follow all company policies as described in the Employee Handbook, fostering a cooperative and respectful workplace.

    Perform additional cleaning and maintenance tasks as needed to support the overall operations of the restaurant.

    Qualifications:

    Experience in efficiently clearing and resetting tables, and transporting dirty dishes to the designated areas.

    Ability to safely maneuver furniture such as chairs, tables, and bar stools.

    Proficient in using all necessary cleaning tools and equipment.

    Excellent communication skills for following verbal and written instructions.

    Capable of multitasking and work calmly under pressure in a fast-paced and busy environment.

    Able to work in tight, noisy, and varying temperature conditions.

    Physically able to lift up to 50 pounds and to stand and walk during the entire shift, navigating through potential hazards.

    Experience in operating dishwashing machines and using various cleaning supplies efficiently.

    Ability to wash, sanitize, and dry all kitchenware and utensils thoroughly.

    Available to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

    Proficient in safely using and operating all necessary kitchen tools and equipment.

    Effective communicator, capable of understanding and following both written and spoken instructions.

    Comfortable working in confined and potentially crowded spaces with variable noise and temperature levels.
