JOB SUMMARY: Butcher & Bee is a vegetable driven, middle-eastern inspired restaurant in East Nashville that opened in 2015. We value community and hospitality above all else - extending it to our customers, co-workers, suppliers, and neighbors. We are seeking a Sous Chef to join our team!
The Sous Chef shares our passion for purposeful food and hospitality. The Sous Chef is a dynamic and motivated leader, who takes on the responsibility of being the best in all areas of the kitchen. This position will entail equal time prepping food and cooking on the line, along with a few events/pop-ups every quarter. Responsibilities include ordering, inventory and product management, costing and recipe development, and execution of made to order dishes. The ideal candidate must be organized, have a desire to mentor others, be consistent and love serving others.
REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Must be available to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays (We are closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas)
At least 2 years restaurant cooking experience
Solid understanding of fundamentals of cooking and knife skills
Knowledge of safety, sanitation, and food handling best practices
Constant standing, walking, stopping
Occasional kneeling, crawling, pushing, pulling, lifting, climbing ladders, and carrying of up to 50lbs
