Butler Associates Public Relations offers great opportunities for recent college grads, or those with a few years in the working world, who want to learn about the strategic communications and public relations industry in a highly creative professional atmosphere. This position is an in-office position in Manhattan, Monday – Thursday and Remote Work Day on Friday.

As an Account Coordinator you will work on important communications-public relations projects for law, business, banking, film-entertainment, medical, education and public affairs sectors. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and desire to learn are prerequisites for this job. Public Relations Students Society of America (PRSSA) involvement or public relations internships a real plus.

• Assisting in the coordinating and executing of communications-PR campaigns
• Business Social Media and Video Editing Experience
• Researching and assist in drafting press materials and white papers
• Issuing press releases and learn to pitch media stories reporters both across the US
• Advancing and advocating client campaigns across multiple social media platforms
• Daily media monitoring
• Undertaking industry research and generating story ideas and news angles
• Develop and maintain relationships with media to secure and grow coverage
• Supporting senior members of staff
• Monitoring press coverage and creating summary reports, as well as researching and maintaining editorial calendars and media lists
• Organizing, managerial and administrative duties

Requirements for this role:

• Bachelor's degree in liberal arts, journalism, mass communications or a related field
• Professional internship experience in Journalism or Public Relations
• Exceptional written and verbal communications skills
• Exceptional organization and project management skills
• Initiative to ask questions, pick up the phone, take action and think ahead
• Ability to thrive under pressure with minimal direct supervision and adapt quickly to changing priorities
• Driven, self-starter, ability to multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines
