Job Description

As a Principal Imaging Scientist at Butterfly Network, you will lead the charge to revolutionize ultrasound imaging. 

As part of our team, your core responsibilities will be: 

• Work with our customers and our Clinical team to understand real clinical issues with diagnostic ultrasound, leading to you developing and optimizing new ultrasound modalities for our platform
• Work with your colleagues on the ASIC, Software, Hardware, and Deep Learning teams on how to best take advantage of our hardware and software architecture required to support your new imaging modalities

Qualifications

Baseline skills/experiences/attributes:

• Fundamental knowledge of basic ultrasound modes: B-mode, Doppler Color Flow Imaging, etc
• Industry or academic experience in diagnostic ultrasound or related field (3+ years)
• Strong modeling skills using either Python or Matlab
• Strong Mathematical, Signal and Image Processing Skills
• Solid project leadership skills, with the ability to coordinate the activities of colleagues
• Solid software skills, ideally in the areas of C++, GPU/Cuda programming
• M.S. (PhD preferred) in EE, Physics, or related field

Ideally, you also have these skills/experiences/attributes (but it’s ok if you don’t!):

• Basic knowledge of analog and digital circuits
• Solid understanding of beamforming, diffraction, synthetic aperture fundamentals
