    Job Summary:

    The Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting is an integral part of the Financial Reporting team and will be responsible for financial reporting and certain other accounting processes at the company. This includes period end close activities, account reconciliations, and assistance with ad hoc reporting. This position requires extensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This position will partner frequently with personnel at all levels within the Company.

    Responsibilities:

    • Assist with the preparation and filing of SEC financial reports, including quarterly reports, annual reports, current reports, and other SEC reports as needed.
    • Prepare and/or review supporting documentation related to financial statement disclosures.
    • Assist with the preparation of financial statements, including, but not limited to, the statement of cash flows and statement of equity.
    • Assist with review of the quarterly earnings release and other investor relations documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
    • Review eXtensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL) tagging for documents to be filed.
    • Participate in the financial reporting process and coordination of the external audit relationship as it relates to the consolidated financial statements.
    • Perform technical accounting research, evaluation, and interpretation of accounting pronouncements and SEC regulations, as well as qualitative and quantitative analysis thereof.
    • Prepare documentation in the form of policy or guidance memos interpreting/communicating technical accounting research.
    • Streamline and improve the month-end close process by developing, implementing, and enhancing accounting control procedures.
    • Update and maintain debt amortization tables and supporting schedules used for financial reports and disclosures.
    • Prepare the consolidation of the balance sheet and income statement, and review for appropriate intercompany eliminations.
    • Analyze accounts for unusual or unexpected activity.
    • Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
    • Ensures control activities are properly carried out for responsible areas.
    • Perform ad hoc reporting and special projects as needed.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or department leader.

    Position Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
    • 2-4 years’ accounting experience.
    • Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook.
    • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
    • Solid leadership and organizational skills with superior attention to detail.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work alongside a wide array of employees.
    • Great interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
    • Ability to flourish in a fast-paced, complex environment with a willingness to adapt to change.
    • Self-driven with proven ability to work independently.
    • CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
    • Public accounting experience preferred.
    • Commercial real estate or REIT experience preferred.
    • Workiva, Yardi, and/or Viewpoint software experience preferred.
