    Butterfly Staffing is seeking two Area Superintendents for these Direct Hire Opportunities in Charlotte, NC. The Area Superintendent maintains direct daily contact with subcontractor's representatives, foremen, and other field staff on a particular area of a large-scale project. Works with the team to ensure the project is built on time, within budget, in accordance with company's policies and procedures and ensures each subcontractor complies with the company's Safety Program.

    • Monitors field variations and keeps the Project Superintendent informed of changes.
    • Ensures that subcontractors understand job schedules and make every effort to meet them.
    • Reviews manpower requirements relative to meeting current job progress schedules, follow-up for timely delivery of materials to meet established schedules.
    • Coordinates work among the various trades and supervises and directs the work of the line and grade crews.
    • Monitors the work to ensure good quality control, and to make certain that work conforms to all plans and specifications.
    • Ensures subcontractor compliance with company Safety Program and all applicable safety codes and regulations.
    • Assists in the review of the monthly estimate work completed and material invoices.

    Position Requirements:

    • BS degree in Engineering or Construction Management is a plus; however, equivalent combinations of technical training and/or experience to meet job requirements.
    • Experience with construction site logistics planning, trade/subcontractor management, monitoring worker safety, quality control, construction project scheduling, material delivery coordination, reading construction plans, blueprints and shop drawings.
    • Minimum 5 years supervisory experience with commercial construction projects.
    • OSHA 30 Certification required.
    • Experience with MS Office, BlueBeam, and scheduling software (Primavera / P6, SureTrack or Microsoft Projects) and ViewPoint construction management software a plus.
    • Previous experience supervising 3 commercial construction projects from start to finish.
    • Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods)
    • Excellent organizational, planning, and interpersonal skills essential.
    • Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing.
    • Possess critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
    • **Extended stays on out-of-town projects are a possibility.

    Physical Demands and Work Environment:

    Performance of the required duties will require physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs, passenger use of construction personnel hoists, ability to climb ladders and negotiate work areas under construction. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Performing this job requires use of hands to fingers, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, sit, talk and hear, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works on the construction work site where the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise in these work environments is usually moderate to very loud.

    Employee must be able to pass pre-employment and random drug screens, a background check and possess a driving record in compliance with company's Driver Qualification Policy.
