    Schedule: Full-Time  (Monday – Friday)
    Compensation: $60,000 – $80,000 Salary + Attractive Benefits

    About the Opportunity

    Our client, a leading distributor serving the commercial construction and industrial markets across North America, is seeking a
    Buyer for their Commercial Division to join their team in Raleigh, North Carolina.

    This is a critical role responsible for purchasing, inventory management, supplier coordination, and product replenishment to support branch operations and customer demand. The successful candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders and vendor partners to ensure inventory accuracy, product availability, and supply chain efficiency across the Commercial Division.

    This is a fully onsite position and offers strong long-term growth opportunities within purchasing, procurement, supply chain, and operations.

     

    Position Overview

    Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, the Buyer will oversee purchasing activities for assigned product categories and locations, ensuring inventory levels are maintained while balancing service, cost, and operational objectives.

    The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced distribution environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Create and manage purchase orders for assigned product lines and divisions
    • Analyze inventory and replenishment reports to maintain optimal stock levels
    • Monitor lead times, delivery schedules, and supplier performance
    • Coordinate inventory replenishment activities with branch and distribution center teams
    • Build and maintain strong vendor and supplier relationships
    • Resolve delivery issues, shortages, quality concerns, and order discrepancies
    • Review purchasing data and prepare reports related to inventory, spend, vendor performance, and supply chain metrics
    • Partner with merchandising, operations, and sales teams regarding product requests, promotions, and inventory planning
    • Investigate inventory variances and implement corrective actions
    • Support month-end inventory activities and purchasing processes
    • Ensure compliance with established purchasing policies and procedures
    • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and cross-functional projects

    Qualifications

    • Associate's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Previous experience in purchasing, procurement, inventory management, buying, or supply chain operations
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
    • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
    • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
    • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy
    • Collaborative, team-focused mindset
