    đź”§ About the Role:

    As a Buyer, you’ll be on the front lines of our operation — visiting auto repair shops, tow yards, and salvage yards to purchase automotive cores and scrap metal items. You’ll negotiate deals, load the items you buy, transport them back to our facility, and weigh them on our scale.

    This is a hands-on, fast-paced sales role that requires hustle, confidence, and physical ability.

    ( MUST HAVE A VALID NJ DRIVERS LICENCE WITH NO POINTS ACCIDENTS OR VIOLATIONS WITHIN THE LAST 3 YEARS )

    Travel daily to auto-related businesses to build relationships and purchase scrap materials (motors, transmissions, aluminum rims, etc.)

    Negotiate prices and close deals on the spot

    Safely load and secure purchased items into your truck

    Transport and weigh materials at our facility

    Maintain accurate records and receipts of purchases

    Be a brand ambassador for Christensen Recycling with professionalism and integrity

    A sales-driven personality with confidence, communication skills, and the hunger to succeed

    Must be physically able to lift and load auto parts (including heavy items like motors and transmissions)

    Clean driver’s license and good driving record

    Self-motivated, energetic, and ready to own your territory

    Prior experience in sales, scrap metal, or the auto industry is a plus, but we’ll train the right go-getter

    Message from the Owner - Summary**** This position typically runs from 6:00–6:30 AM until approximately 5:00–6:00 PM, Monday through Friday. We work hard during the week so we can enjoy our weekends — Saturdays and Sundays are always off.

    This is not simply a truck-driving job. It is a sales-oriented, performance-driven role with significant earning upside.

    Our Buyers (Drivers) are professional field representatives of Christensen Recycling. They are responsible for building relationships, sourcing material, and growing accounts — not just operating a truck.

    Compensation includes:

    Base Salary

    Commission on material purchased

    Quarterly (and sometimes more frequent) Contribution Bonuses

    How Our Bonus System Works

    Our Buyers go into the field daily to purchase precious-metal-bearing automotive scrap, including:

    Catalytic converters

    Aluminum wheels

    Radiators

    Transmissions

    Motors

    Batteries

    And other automotive components

    These materials are essential to our direct-to-smelter trading business.

    In addition to salary and commission, Buyers earn a Contribution Bonus, typically paid quarterly, based on the number of catalytic converters and qualifying material they contribute to the company. These contributions directly enable Christensen Recycling to participate in precious metals trading — making this a true partnership-style compensation model where strong performers are rewarded for helping grow the business.
