    Position Overview:

    We are seeking a Buyer who combines procurement expertise with advanced analytical capability, skilled in leveraging tools, such as Power BI and SQL, to guide data-based decisions and optimize inventory. performance. This position will play a key role in executing procurement strategies, optimizing inventory across our North American branches and working closely with vendors and internal teams to deliver customer success.

    • Strong foundation in supply chain, procurement, and inventory management best practices.
    • Experience in distribution, with knowledge of supplier programs, branch replenishment, and vendor
    • Analytical mindset with ability to translate data into actionable decisions (Power BI, SQL, Excel).
    • Detail-oriented with a structured, organized approach to strategic procurement and inventory management.
    • Strong communicator who can partner effectively with branch managers, suppliers, and internal sales teams.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Procurement Strategy & Analytics
    • Inventory Efficiency & Optimization
    • Analyze spend, supplier performance, and product data to recommend cost savings, margin
    • improvements, and efficiency opportunities.
    • Document and communicate procurement strategies across branches to drive alignment and adoption.
    • Negotiate agreements that deliver favorable terms, rebates, and volume incentives.
    • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, positioning BCS as a partner of choice.
    • Develop and maintain stocking programs that balance customer demand, lead times, and working
    • capital.
    • Reduce excess and obsolete inventory, improve turns, and execute vendor rebalance programs.

    3. Branch Support & Execution

    • Manage purchase orders to ensure on-time product availability.
    • Partner with branch teams to align procurement activities with local needs.
    • Facilitate supplier strategy discussions with Branch Managers.

    4. Process & Data Management

    • Identify and implement process improvements in vendor performance, procurement efficiency, and

    • branch replenishment.

    • Maintain accurate vendor and item data within the ERP system.

    • Collaborate with Accounts Payable and suppliers to resolve invoice and pricing discrepancies.

    Qualifications

    • BBA/BS/BA/BSE in related discipline, or advanced degree or equivalent experience.
    • Supply Chain Management experience with focus on strategic procurement and supplier development.
    • Hands-on knowledge of MS Excel, PowerBI, or other technology reporting platforms.
    • Strong negotiation and relationship management skills.
    • Epicor P21 experience (nice to have but not required).
    • Controls/Building Automation experience (nice to have but not required).

    Physical Requirements:

    • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
    • Must be able to lift 45 pounds at times.
    • Current Driver’s License and Liability Insurance

    • Mid-to-Heavy travel may be required.
