Job Description
JW Hicks is looking for a capable, motivated Purchasing Agent to add to our team at our Knox, IN, location (this is in person, not remote). This person will purchase materials and services, source and maintain contacts for procurement and delivery of needed products and services, maintain accurate records of all purchases and deliveries, and maintain inventory of items frequently used in production.
** Responsibilities and Duties**
Order materials and services
Manage purchasing information and systems.
Track receipts and evaluate supplier delivery performance.
Manage supplier relationships and service level agreements.
Administer purchasing contracts.
Monitor and manage raw material inventories.
Work with other departments to forecast required purchases.
Develop and maintain periodic reports as needed.
Perform other duties to best help the team
** Required Qualifications:**
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Effective interpersonal skills
2-3 years’ experience with above responsibilities
Basic computer literacy and working knowledge of software programs commonly used in business.
Ability and willingness to learn
** Preferred Qualifications:**
Strong organizational skills
ERP experience
Experience with computer spreadsheets and databases
Awareness of packaging and transportation regulations
Familiarity with OSHA industrial standards
First aid and CPR qualifications
