    Buzzer is seeking a summer Fellow in Business Development with a strong interest in the sports media and or technology space. This position will be responsible for assisting the business development team in their efforts to partner with media rights holders, emerging technology businesses, social platforms and more. This role is responsible for supporting the team with strategy and execution of partnership outreach and development with the close of securing deals that will increase brand awareness, drive downloads of the Buzzer app, and drive usage of Buzzer products. This Fellow will support the team through research projects, deck building, ideation sessions and various other projects, as needed. The candidate should be interested in sports and have a basic understanding of the current sports media landscape to develop and establish Buzzer’s positioning with key players in the industry. 

    Buzzer is presently a fully remote team. This is a highly cross-functional role, connecting with leaders from Partnership Management, Operations, Product Design, Finance, and Marketing to ensure success. The Business Development Fellow will report to the Senior Manager of Business Development and will support a fully Business Development team distributed team. This person will also be part of our 2021 Strive Fellowship program, engaging with other Fellows to learn from each other and help define the program structure for future Fellows. 

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Current undergraduate or masters candidate with special emphasis for students enrolled in Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and other Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs) 

    • Relevant project-based or internship experience 

    • Strong oral and written skills with the ability to present ideas, insights and results to external stakeholders, internal senior management, and the broader team

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Ability to think creatively and succeed in unconventional environments

    • Ability to gain internal support, operate independently with limited supervision and feedback, and establish a solid working relationship with the broader Buzzer team

    Buzzer is proud to share that our first product was the Strive Mentorship program, a global mentorship program connecting over 500 industry professionals with over 500 Black college students predominantly from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and other universities. This mentorship program ultimately inspired the Strive initiative and represents our ambitions to lead by doing the right thing for our potential customers, partners, and employees.
