Byte Systmes is seeking a Cloud & DevOps Software Developer to be a part of a larger team of software developers and support real mission initiatives. As a Cloud & DevOps Software Developer, you will create cloud solutions for ETL processes and maintain those solutions. This position entails extracting, transforming, and loading (ETL) raw data into databases utilizing Pentaho, SQL Developer, Oracle Database, RDS, and other tools. Raw data is extracted into database tables and cleaned to ensure information is appropriately categorized. Additionally, you will work with other parts of the team to maintain process, schedule, and quality controls.

Your responsibilities will include the following:

• • Designing, building, and maintaining solutions utilizing cloud technologies and platforms

• • Researching, designing, developing, and modifying IT platforms and software systems

• • Maintaining and updating COTS software applications utilized in the ETL process

• • Developing additional skills and knowledge, as needed to resolve issues and support customer operations in an evolving IT environment

• • Presenting ideas for systems improvements

• • Conducting impact analysis for platform changes

• • Producing detailed specifications and writing and maintaining scripts and/or software code

• • Managing a cloud environment

• • Working closely with business analysts, designers, and subject-matter experts to understand functional requirements

• • Conducting unit tests and documents findings

• • Understanding the structure and functionality of COTS applications

• • Extending applications by utilizing applicable application tools

• • Maintaining knowledge of feature and technical changes in the application

• • Must possess skills in the following areas:

• o Implementing solutions utilizing Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud technologies, Commercial Cloud Services (C2S), software development, and/or scripting

• • Software design and development skills

• • AWS EC2, S3, and RDS configuration, implementation, and management

  Candidate must have one of the following:

• • 12 Years of job related experience and High School/GED diploma

• • 10 Years of job related experience and Associate degree

• • 8 Years of job related experience and Bachelor’s degree

• • 6 Years of job related experience and Master’s degree

• • 4 Years of job related experience and Doctorate

  Experience with the following areas is a plus:

• • Java, Python, or Node.js software development

• • Oracle database (11g or newer) and related technologies including the following:

• o Java Database Connectivity (JDBC)

• o PL/SQL

• o Database development

• • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate

• • AWS Certified Developer – Associate
