Responsibilities: • Provide professional legal services throughout all stages of a case, from initial research to trial, including drafting legal documents, managing discovery, and updating case progress • Develop and execute effective legal strategies, advising clients on their legal options, and serving as the primary liaison between the firm and clients • Represent clients in various legal proceedings like mediations, depositions, trials, and hearings • Prepare clients, experts, witnesses, and other parties for legal proceedings through consultations and necessary preparations • Supervise and train staff, including Junior Associates and Contract Attorneys, by delegating tasks and overseeing their work • Support marketing efforts by participating in events, writing articles, and engaging in speaking opportunities • Take on additional duties as needed to assist the firm in achieving its objectives Qualifications: • The candidate must have an active license to practice law in Texas and maintain good standing with the Texas Bar Association. • A minimum of 5 years of experience in family law is required, including handling at least 20 contested property trials and 20 contested custody bench trials as the lead attorney. • Possession of a Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school is a must. • Proficiency in legal research tools like Word, Outlook, Dropbox, and electronic legal research platforms is essential. • Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively market oneself as a skilled family law litigator are necessary. • A positive attitude towards challenges, along with a strong work ethic, is vital. • Meeting minimum billable requirements and demonstrating excellent writing skills are mandatory. • Belief in teamwork and a commitment to contributing to the team's success are essential. • The ability to think strategically and efficiently execute tasks is required. • Desire to offer help with compassion and understanding. • Confidence, independence, decisiveness, and taking responsibility for actions are key attributes. • Enjoyment of learning, detail-oriented work, and performing well under pressure are crucial. • Being a creative thinker who can innovate beyond traditional approaches is valued.
