Therapeutic Behavioral Services Coach
TBS Coach ($16.00 - $24.00 / Hour) Under general supervision, provide one to one therapeutic behavior services to clients. TBS is an intensive one-to-one, short-term treatment intervention for children and youth with serious emotional problems or mental illness who are experiencing a stressful transition or life crisis and need additional short-term support to prevent placement in a group home of Rate Classification Level 12 through 14 or a locked mental facility or to facilitate a transition to a lower level of residential care. For part-time coaches, CFC cannot guarantee cases; as cases are determined by county referrals. REPORTS TO: TBS SUPERVISOR REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree/Master's degree preferred in Social Work or related field or four (4) or more years experience with SED children, excellent time management and documentation skills. Understanding of mental health requirements and documentation. Good communication and teaching skills, ability to work independently with minimal supervision. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Provide one to one clinical interventions and collaboration as required. 2. Client cases are part-time. It is the responsibility of the part-time TBS Coach to accept or decline cases that are referred. 3. Make every effort to sustain difficult children. 4. Secure all required signatures upon inception of TBS services. 5. Complete each TBS client's progress notes and required documents in a thorough and timely manner. Progress notes should be individualized to the client's treatment plan and the interventions you are implementing during each session. 6. Help/respond to emergencies in a professional manner. 7. Make attempts to intervene before a crisis develops with a child. 8. Seek out ways to improve the TBS program. 9. Attend on-going, child-related, and educational classes. 10. Keep accurate/legible progress notes. 11. Keep track of billed hours in order to determine actual hours worked. PRINCIPLE WORKING RELATIONSHIPS: Open communication and on-going contact with staff in the local program/s, Supervisor, and Coordinator. Frequent communication with caregivers and co-coaches, when applicable. ACCOUNTABLE FOR THE FOLLOWING END RESULTS: 1. Insure that the primary goal of providing quality mental health services is the focus of every activity. 2. Insure that all the entries in the client charts are accurate, complete and done in a timely manner to meet audit standards. PRE-EMPLOYMENT: All employment offers are contingent upon successful completion of both a physical exam that may include a drug/alcohol test and a criminal background investigation that involves fingerprints.
