    ATURE OF WORK This position offers a hands-on professional opportunity to work with the C-TRAN Customer Experience and Communication Team. This position is for a third- or fourth-year student, graduate student or recent college graduate in communications or public relations. Job duties include social media management, graphic design, project assistance, event coordination and public involvement. The successful candidate would work up to 20 hours per week, mainly afternoons. Some evening and weekend work is required. SUPERVISION Position is under the general supervision of the Manager of Communications. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Provide general support to the Customer Experience and Communication Department Example of Duties: Participate in direct outreach specific to multiple projects in 2023, including: Mill Plain bus rapid transit construction Highway 99 bus rapid transit planning and design Local bus service changes Develop and post social media content to Facebook, Twitter and Instagram Assist with basic graphic design as needed Work with staff to create innovative, successful marketing concepts Assist in presentation preparation Deliver marketing materials for promotions and events Assist with event coordination Example of Duties: Help staff C-TRAN's presence at the 2023 Clark County Fair and other community events Event promotion and outreach Coordinate event preparation with C-TRAN Maintenance staff and others Event setup, staffing and tear-down SELECTION FACTORS Ability to quickly learn the operations, services and activities required of an intern in a comprehensive public relations and marketing program Ability to speak comfortably and authoritatively with a range of audiences Computer proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Office products Knowledge of methods, techniques and equipment used in graphic arts design; experience with Adobe Creative Suite is a plus Photography skills Ability to create, develop, edit and produce a variety of promotional, informational, motivational and educational materials; strong writing skills are a must Ability to meet schedules and deadlines Ability to establish and maintain courteous and tactful public employee relations Ability to attend scheduled evening and weekend meetings as required Ability to provide excellent service to all customers both internally and externally Knowledge of/interest in public transportation is a plus
