  • Responsibilities

    Under general direction, the Recruiter will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the recruiting and hiring processes by researching, developing, and implementing effective worforce recruiting strategies to connect businesses, hiring managers, and qualified professional level candidates to fill job openings and work-based learning opportunities. 

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Work with selected businesses seeking professional level talent and develop close relationships with hiring managers to assess staffing needs and specific vital details regarding the positions they seek to fill.

    • Conduct regular follow-up with hiring managers to determine the effectiveness of recruiting strategies and implementation.

    • Work closely and collaborate with other Career Center staff to identify and develop candidate pools for specific professional level positions.

    • Utilize internal and external databases to identify, screen/review resumes and credentials for appropriateness of skills, experience, and knowledge in relation to position requirements and refer qualified applicants in caseload to available job postings they are qualified for. Emphasize intensive services customer candidates.

    • Provide placement assistance and job development services to intensive services customers exiting training.

    • Match, prescreen, and prepare customers for appropriate work-based learning opportunities including On-the-Job Training, Subsidized Employment, Work Experience, and Workfare activities and ensure all pre-requisites for employment including assessment testing are completed if necessary.

    • Provide one-on-one assistance to professional level customers geared toward developing and/or updating specific targeted error-free resume and cover letters.

    • Provide applicants other career services, to include but not limited to, career mentorship and advising, resume and cover letter development, interview preparation, salary guidance, and offer negotiations.

    • Coordinate, attend and participate in recruiting events, job fairs, and networking events to keep informed of employment trends and labor market changes.

    • Organize and maintain accurate business and applicant records in customer relationship management and applicant tracking systems to support program and client/business relations.

    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies.

    • Perform additional duties as assigned.

     REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

    • Excellent verbal, written, communication, and proof reading skills.

    • Desire and ability to work with persons of diverse cultural, economic and educational backgrounds.

    • Possess strong collaboration skills to successfully engage, understand and respond to the needs of business accounts, and work in a cross-functional team.

    • Ability to coach and motivate others.

    • Possess strong time management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle demanding deadlines, multiple tasks and priorities.

    • Demonstrated interpersonal, customer service, problem solving and critical thinking skills.

    • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn applicant-tracking software or other recruitment systems.

    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

    • Thorough knowledge of the principles, practices and regulations related to employment and training programs, and resume and cover letter development.

    • Knowledge of the principles of program planning, design, and evaluation.

    • Ability to perform market research, monitor and analyze data.

     

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS  

    • Bachelor Degree from an accredited university or college in Business Administration, management, Human Resources or related field required.

    • At least three (3) years managing all phases of the recruitment and hiring process highly preferred.

    • Certified Business Services Consultant™ (CBSC) preferred.

      

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS 

    Physical requirements include lifting up to 10 pounds occasionally. Subject to standing, sitting, bending, and kneeling for long periods to perform job scope. Requires visual acuity, speech and hearing.  Working conditions are primarily in an office environment. May require use of personal vehicle for occasional site visits.
