MORTGAGE UNDERWRITER JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Analyzes and evaluates residential mortgage loan applications originated by Bremer Bank branch offices.
- Gathers, analyzes and interprets credit information in accordance with agency and investor guidelines while adhering to quality standards and compliance regulations.
- The ideal candidate is required to be proficient in the underwriting of conventional, FHA and VA loans.
- Must be proficient in complex tax return analysis and possess the ability to perform multiple tasks including, underwriting a minimum standard of files and resubmissions each day;
- Demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate both in written and oral form with internal and external clients to provide support as needed; and willing to work overtime as volume dictates.
- Ideal candidate must be detailed, organized, self-motivated, demonstrate the ability to work toward closing date deadlines and tasks assigned, and manage work flow queue for file assignments independently.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Combination of education and experience, generally acquired through the attainment of a high school diploma or GED and 3 years relevant experience.
- A minimum of 3+ years of mortgage loan underwriting experience is required.
