    Job Description

    #ZR REF# COR17918 WORK SCHEDULE:

    • M-F, 8:00a.m.-5:00p.m.
    • Overtime possible on a manager approved basis

    Travel Requirements:

    •  Travels should be less than 10% including international on-site installation and troubleshooting

    Scope of Position:

    • Provides technical support to manufacturing, quality and engineering departments by maintaining and developing inspection processes, testing products, and recording and analyzing data during product development and manufacturing.
    • Performs visual and dimensional product inspection under close tolerances utilizing advanced precision measurement equipment and ensure adherence to quality and engineering standards.
    • Evaluates customer requirements and implements appropriate measurement protocols.
    • Maintains and performs the calibration of standard mechanical measuring and recording instruments/

    Day to Day Responsibilities:

    •  Support Quality Engineering on implementing and maintaining Quality systems to meet the requirements of production, ISO 9001
    •  Support Quality Engineering in the Root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action for process related concerns and Customer notifications received
    •  Responsible for continual improvement activities to enhance the quality system, such as 5S, Kaizen, lean methods, etc.
    •  Support training to ensure that products and processes comply with the relevant requirements of the quality management system
    • Inspect welds using visual and non-destructive testing methods.
    • Create and maintain company quality documentation, such as inspection plans, etc.
    •  Monitor and report CTQ’s performance in the processes (i.e. SPC)
    • Support statistical analysis to engineering and production as related to quality issues.
    •  Develop and assurance of measurement systems thru the use of statistical tools
    •  Quality verification in products in manufacturing before each shipment.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Required Education:

    •  AAS in CAD, Mechanical Technology, Welding Technology or equivalent plus 1+ years of Welding and Metal Fabrication experience.

    REQUIRED SKILLS

    •  Ability to read and interpret drawings
    • Solid MS Excel and MS Word experience
    • Ability to work under general direction
    •  Effective organization, and planning skills, with ability to handle changing priorities
    •  Excellent communications, interpersonal, and influencing skills

    DESIRED SKILLS

    •  Self-starter that is flexible and adaptable in an ever-changing environment.
    •  Experience in use of measurement tools, CMM.
    • Able to work with multi-functional teams
    •  Positive attitude, flexible and good work ethic
    •  Familiarity with sheet metal and weld symbols

    THIS IS A CONTRACT POSITION.

    • Location: USA - NY - Corning
    • Duration of contract: 1 Year
    • Education/Experience:  AAS in CAD, Mechanical Technology, Welding Technology or equivalent plus 1+ years of Welding and Metal Fabrication experience.
    • Pay Rate: $22-27 per hr
