The CAD/Design Drafter III is responsible for developing conceptual designs, reviewing drawings, and supporting the engineering team. This role involves designing project-specific components for manufacturing, facilitating internal workflows, and collaborating with Project Management and Engineering teams—both in person and remotely—to develop design concepts and engineering documentation. Responsibilities may vary based on department needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research and review project requirements and design information to ensure completeness and feasibility
- Assist in preparing standard engineering documents and calculations using Autodesk Vault, AutoCAD, Inventor, and iLogic
- Coordinate with Project Managers and Engineers to define project requirements, functions, and timelines
- Determine appropriate methods for creating drawings using customized, standard, or existing CAD templates
- Analyze drawings and design data to support project planning and execution
- Complete and revise drawings in accordance with scope of work and quality standards
- Review drawings from other drafters to ensure consistency with project scope and drafting standards
- Support project managers in preparing scopes of work and project estimates
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Drafting or CAD Technology with 3–5 years of experience, or equivalent experience
(8+ years of mechanical engineering field experience may substitute for a degree) - Proficiency with Autodesk Vault, AutoCAD, Inventor, and iLogic
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with sheet metal and piping design
