    Job Title: CAD (Computer Aided Design) Drafter

    Location: Mount Vernon, New York

    Position Overview:

    This is a CAD drafting role involving sheet metal, coils and electrical drawings. The role is often required to interpret basic engineering or architectural sketches and develop CAD drawings. Successful candidate must be a people person to be able to work with various internal and external customers.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Model sheet metal parts, coils, and assemblies
    • Manage revisions and redlines
    • Work with various regulatory and industry organizations
    • Work with offshore engineering teams
    • Work with sales, marketing, manufacturing, finance, supply-chain and other departments

    Qualifications:

    • Associate degree or certificate in Mechanical Drafting, Drafting and Design Technology, CAD Tech, Engineering Tech, or Architecture or Construction Tech preferred
    • On-the-job experience can be considered in lieu of formal education
    • ERP or PDM software familiarity
    • 2 to 5 years of experience

    Required Skills:

    • Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Revit, etc.

    • Understanding of technical drawings, i.e. blueprints, schematics, dimensioning standards

    • Knowledge of drafting standards (ANSI, ISO, ASME)

    • Familiar with industry specific codes or practices like sheet metal tolerancing, manufacturing process, electric schematic symbols, NEC codes

    • Ability to interpret engineering or architectural sketches

    • Strong attention to detail

    • Time management and ability to meet deadlines

    • Problem solving skills for design corrections and revisions

    Preferred Skills:

    • Ability to work with minimal supervision
    • Working in HVAC industry is a plus
    • Understand airflow, coil arrangement, CFM, tonnage, pressure drop etc.
    • Familiarity with UL, AHRI, ASHRAE and other HVAC standards is a bonus
    • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office products like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
