CAD Drafting and Sales Liaison (Part Time)

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled, part time CAD Drafter to join our machine shop team. The CAD Drafter will be responsible for creating and updating 2D and 3D design models using AUTODESK AutoCAD. Key duties include modifying and revising drawings as needed, collaborating closely with the manufacturing operations team to ensure designs meet production requirements, and coordinating with the production team on any updates or changes. Additionally, the CAD Drafter will support the front line of our customer interactions by preparing accurate quotes and handling direct sales inquiries. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential to succeed in this role.

Responsibilities:

• Create and update 2D & 3D design models using AUTODESK AutoCAD

• Make necessary modifications/revisions to existing drawings

• Work directly with customers to align needs and outcomes

• Coordinate with the production team on drawing updates and changes

• Maintain organized records of all drawings and revisions

• Communicate with outside vendors, conduct site visits with local customers

• Communicate effectively in a team-oriented environment

Qualifications & Competencies:

• Proficiency in AUTODESK AutoCAD LT-2D, SolidWorks 3D preferred

• Experience in a machine shop or manufacturing environment

• Knowledge/experience working with or designing cutting tools

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

• Customer focused & motivated self-starter

• Effective communication and teamwork abilities
