    Job Description

    The Accounting and Financial Analyst is required to develop, generate, and manage a variety of mortgage lending business-related financial and production reports, maintain the database utilized in reporting, and to be well-versed in the utilization of the company’s financial accounting system, excel, and associated applications. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a collaborative approach incorporating strong organizational, communication, financial reporting, and analytical skills. The successful candidate must possess advanced financial analysis and problem-solving competencies.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Preparation of financial statements and management of supporting documentation.
    • Analysis and reporting of financial results to investors and regulatory agencies.
    • Oversight and management of quarterly trust fund deposits and annual filing of financial statements to various State agencies.
    • Updating forecasted results based upon actual results achieved.
    • Calculating and accounting for variations in mortgage servicing rights based upon end loan placement and characteristics.
    • Quarterly data assembly for Income Fund/REIT reporting of loans in the portfolio.
    • Support in preparation of investor PowerPoint presentations including graphics that can effectively convey financial information clearly.
    • Creation of business intelligence reporting in collaboration with multiple internal functions.
    • Financial forecasting and 5-year budget model establishment and refinement.
    • Direct generation and management of financial and production-related reporting for the business channel.
    • Monthly bank and miscellaneous account reconciliations.
    • Preparation and issuance of annual 1099’s and 1096.
    • Daily cash management.
    • Development of models and reporting that can further support the profitability of CALCAP.

    REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS:

    • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting with a minimum of two years of relevant experience in mortgage lending. Master’s Degree in Accounting or related field in mortgage banking preferred.
    • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license in good standing preferred.
    • Excellent problem-solving and analytics skills combined with superior customer service and interpersonal skills.
    • Exceptional organizational skills and aptitude for advanced financial data interpretation.
    • Extensive accounting and software application experience, including Microsoft Office, Yardi, and databases.
    • Consistent, accurate, and thorough in terms of details and supporting documentation management.
    • Outstanding communications skills, including written and verbal.
    • Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment.
