ABOUT THE ROLE As a Research Librarian, you will be responsible for providing research services involving legal, business, and general information sources to attorneys, paralegals and staff using a variety of research tools. Other key responsibilities include:

    • Conducting domestic and international legal and non-legal research utilizing appropriate research tools and directing uses to appropriate resources, this includes analysing results for relevancy and appropriateness for the specific request
    • Compiling and organising information obtained in research into a coherent, focused collection of information, accompanied by explanatory notes or memoranda if relevant, so that the material is readily understandable to the user
    • Monitoring current industry and legal developments for the practice group and informing attorneys of important events through emails, bulletins or other appropriate means
    • Promoting awareness and training amongst the attorneys about research resources available to them, both internally and externally, working with Knowledge Management and Strategic Research as necessary
    • Assisting with library operational functions

    • A Bachelor’s degree
    • Research experience in a law firm or other professional service entity
    • Knowledge of print and electronic legal and non-legal research resources
