    SHIPPING SUPERVISOR 

    The employee in this role will lead, develop, and oversee a team of shipping employees focused on customer shipments, inventory control, accuracy and customer support. Initiate and sustain process improvements and create and maintain department documentation. Staff, train, develop, and evaluate team members. Support team in meeting company and department performance metrics. Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Promote and support shipping and inventory policies and procedures; adapt processes in response to business issues and objectives and in anticipation of growth.
    • Develop staffing plans to meet production requirements.
    • Interface with shop and office personnel company-wide; act as the communication focal for requests and exception processing.
    • Generate, analyze and act on shipping reports utilizing customer portals and ERP system.
    • Comply with all Government requirements including all Export documentation and reporting.
    • Develop processes to validate and control computer and workflow systems affecting shipping and associated systems.
    • Accurately assess situations and take appropriate action; identify problems and research resolutions.
    • Create and maintain shipping and freight documentation and training tools as well as reconcile freight savings opportunities.
    • Design and adapt finished goods stores layouts for optimal protection of parts, use of space and efficiency.
    • Document and monitor 5S objectives, support environmental objectives and ensure a safe work environment.
    • Lead projects and events to enhance shipping control and service objectives and associated processes.
    • Applies continuous improvement techniques and methods to internal processes and systems to increase efficiency and customer service and to reduce costs.
    • Actively engage with Marketing, QA, Production Control, Business Process, and IT to evaluate, understand and meet customer shipping requirements and deadlines.
    • Prepares moderately complex reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends for monthly reporting.
    • Perform administrative tasks timely and effectively.
    • Conduct daily crew meetings.

    Required Skills Required Experience

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Bachelor's degree in business or technical field or equivalent knowledge and experience.
    • Aerospace industry experience is desired.
    • Understand workflow principles.
    • Ability to organize and manage multiple concurrent projects.
    • Ability to troubleshoot and recommend solutions in a team environment.
    • Experience working on a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity where analysis of the situation or data requires thorough identification of factors and analysis of impact.
    • Excellent time management skills to handle multiple assignments and tight deadlines.
    • Excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document and present information effectively.
    • Proficient with MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
    • Ability to become proficient in use of a variety of internal and external software applications to control inventory, support shipments and arrange domestic and international freight

  • Qualifications
    • Must be able to read, write, comprehend and speak English. 
    • Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs (team lifting required for anything over 50 lbs). 
    • Basic knowledge of computer systems required.
    • Warehouse management systems experience required.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem.
    • Must be able to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication and division match calculations.
    • Must have good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
    • The ability to perform duties with emphasis on safety. 
    • Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly with great attention to detail. 
    • Ability to utilize the available time to organize and complete work within given deadlines.
