    California Patrol Operations is looking for a strong candidate to become a full-time armed Patrol Officer for our swing and graveyard shifts. The district officer patrols the assigned district by responding to service calls and working closely with the local Police Department. DISTRICT Patrol officers patrol in an agency-marked patrol vehicle equipped with a laptop and two-way radio.

    California Patrol Operations is a dynamic and progressive agency dedicated to providing the highest quality of service to the Sacramento community. Officers work closely with Homeless Outreach Program and board directors to provide safety and security to each district.

    Must have:

    • Guard card (please do not apply if you don't have a guard card)
    • Firearms permit and BE ARMED, you must have your own firearm
    • Driver's License, with a good driving record
    • Cell phone
    • Duty belt & gear
    • Baton Permit
    • O.C. Spray Permit
    • Dependable transportation, own vehicle

    Must be:

    • 25 years +
    • willing to follow procedure and company policy
    • willing to work with a focused team and follow supervisor's commands

    -Must be available to work Nights and Weekends (Required!)

    Essential Physical and Mental Functions:

    • Must be able to work 2-way radios
    • Be present on property as a crime deterrent
    • Be hands-on and able to deescalate situations
    • Must be able to handle stressful situations
    • Read, understand and clearly write and speak English; constantly use speech and hearing
    • Work in various environments including adverse outdoor conditions
    • Constant mental alertness and attention to detail are required while setting priorities and following up on assignments
    • Must possess effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with all levels of personnel and the general public in a professional and effective manner; must be able to use initiative and independent judgment within established guidelines
    • Must be able to frequently prepare written reports and logs in neat, legible handwriting.
    • Must be proficient with technology such as computers and using phone apps.
    • Must be able to read and understand all operating procedures and instructions
    • Must be able to handle the pressure of working with a high volume general public.
