    CALSTART has an immediate 3 months paid internship opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join our Validation and Assessment team. The Validation & Assessment team leads projects that provide third-party performance analysis and evaluation of clean vehicles, technologies, and fuels. Our team collects and analyzes sophisticated performance, maintenance and reliability data including technology user acceptance assessments. Working with funding agencies, fleets, and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) we develop tailored test methodologies designed to test and verify specific advanced technologies.

    The intern will include support with validating and analyzing data, note taking during meetings with external stakeholders, and gaining experience with project management for ZE technology deployments.

    Qualifications:

    • Completed a least three years of accredited college/university level coursework pursuing a bachelor's degree in engineering, data analysis, or environmental science, or other related fields
    • Experience with data analysis classwork and/or projects
    • Knowledge of clean transportation with a strong desire to learn more about medium to heavy-duty zero-emission buses and trucks
    • Demonstrated proficiency in Excel
    • Strong written skills with the ability to synthesize technical analyses
    • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and project management abilities
    • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
    • High proficiency in communications project management across various stages of development and implementation (planning, execution, monitoring, and completion
    • Ability to communicate with multiple stakeholders and audiences
    • Ability to work independently in a remote work environment
    • Minimum commitment of 20 hrs/week

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, R, GIS)
    • Proficiency in data analysis languages (e.g., R, Python, Stata)
    • Experience with clean transportation
    • Understanding of clean transportation policies in California
