  • Responsibilities

    CALSTART has an immediate 3-month paid internship opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join our Business Development Initiative. This position will support the Development team and report directly to the Development Support Specialist. Our intern will play an important role in supporting both foundation and government work.

    The Development Intern will...

    • Assist in the organization, maintenance, and improvement of an internal library
    • Improve internal workflow processes by helping source important staff data such as resumes and biographies
    • Assist with updating the Development team's CRM
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    Qualifications:

    • Completed at least three years of accredited college/university level coursework pursuing a bachelor's degree in communication, journalism, sustainability, business development, or other related fields
    • Experience in data collection, data analysis, and other simulation tools (Excel skills)
    • Experienced in research and report writing with the ability to search through directions, summarize findings, and assist managers with presentational materials
    • Ability to develop and give presentations to a variety of audiences
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
    • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
    • Demonstrated ability to write clear and concise reports and proposals
    • Ability to work independently in a remote work environment
    • Minimum commitment of 20-30 hours/week

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Pursuing Master's degree in communication, sustainability, business, or related field
    • Experience or knowledge of the clean transportation industry
    • Development and fundraising knowledge
    • Experience with CRMs and/or relationship management tools
    • Experience or knowledge of non-profit fundraising and development
    • Advanced Excel skills and/or Excel Certified
