    CALSTART has an immediate opening for a highly motivated person to join our team as an Associate Producer for Marketing and Outreach. The ideal candidate will play an important role in supporting high-impact clean transportation projects. They will also be responsible for the development and implementation of scripts for filming and production for our weekly webcast CCTU, creative writing, editing, pitching story ideas, and basic assisting tasks to keep the various programmatic productions running smoothly. In this role, the Associate Producer for Marketing and Outreach will support creative projects that support industry engagement, marketing campaigns, communication development, and community outreach. The position will be based in the CALSTART solar-powered headquarters in Pasadena, California.

    Additionally, the Associate Producer will…

    • Create visual communications to convey messages in an effective and aesthetically pleasing manner. This incorporates several tasks and responsibilities:
    • Reports directly to the executive producer to develop program and project concepts and ideas
    • Project research, gathering information and knowledge from available resources
    • Making sure that the video or audio segments are in the correct broadcast order
    • Additional operational duties such as running the Zoom during webcasts and assisting the editor by making shot selections
    • Revise copy and guide the editorial content of the series
    • Active involvement in the creative side of the job by pitching ideas, helping to develop stories and scripts, and suggesting improvements
    • Assist with the promotions and handle bookings

    Qualifications

    • A bachelor's degree (preferably in Marketing, Liberal Arts, Communications, Journalism and/or Business Management)
    • 3 years of professional experience in strategic brand marketing, video production, script writing/editing, and content curation.
    • Experience excelling in a team environment where you display personal initiative, thrive in public-engagement settings, and be driven by a passion for the clean transportation industry.
    • ABILITY TO MULTITASK AND WORK UNDER PRESSURE: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and project management abilities; demonstrate initiative and multi-task in a fast-paced environment;
    • HIGH PROFICIENCY IN COMMUNICATIONS PROJECT MANAGEMENT: across various stages of development and implementation (planning, execution, monitoring and completion) focusing on video production; CONFLICT MANAGEMENT: During production work, some conflict will arise, the Associate Producer needs to be able to manage the conflict and provide effective solutions to the issues.
    • LEADERSHIP SKILLS: An Associate Producer must be a good leader in order to get the production team to produce.
    • EXCELLENT CREATIVE SKILLS: Creativity and innovation is a vital skill for an Associate Producer role as the job involves developing concepts and ideas.
    • GOOD TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE: An Associate Producer needs to understand all aspects involved in the production and should be able to use the production equipment and tools.
    • EXCELLENT WRITING AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Great writing and comprehensive communication skills are crucial for an Associate Producer since the job requires a lot of interaction with unit members and clients.

    Desired Qualifications

    • Excellent communication and outreach skills and experience in supporting a creative team in developing video and digital media content that informs targeted audiences, promotes meaningful engagement, and results in successful program participation
    • Strong interpersonal, written and spoken communication skills; experience supporting innovative creative teams; great team-working skills
    • Solid understanding of and experience with multimedia use for effective outreach
    • A proven track record of facilitating successful digital marketing and outreach campaigns and events.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of applications, with a high degree of competence in Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Excel
    • Experience with Adobe, Final Cut Pro and movie editing software is a plus
