Piping Designer
San Diego, California Compensation: $35/hr.- $45/hr. Contract to Direct Hire - Long-Term Onsite
Company Overview: A leading San Diego, CA-based firm specializes in the production of air pollution control systems for capturing particulate and gaseous emissions through advanced wet scrubbing technology. These systems cater to a broad spectrum of sectors including chemical, industrial, metallurgical, medical, and pathological waste treatment. Key system components—such as condensers, absorbers, quenchers, Venturi scrubbers, and wet electrostatic precipitators—are also offered for varied applications. All systems are innovatively designed in-house and brought to life by our trusted supplier network.
Position Summary: The Mechanical Designer role is a dynamic and integral part of the engineering team. You will be collaborating closely with the Project Manager and the Project Engineer to generate sophisticated 3D models and technical drawings. This is a temporary position, expected to last between 3 to 6 months, offering a valuable opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking projects in environmental technology.
Responsible for 3D and technical drawing generation including: •Mechanical design, piping routing, and new part creation •Updating models and drawings based on customer and vendor feedback •Documentation and manuals
Required Qualifications: •AA in drafting or B.S. in Mechanical Engineering •Proficiency with SolidWorks™ and AutoCAD™ •1 to 5 years of relevant industrial component design experience
Special Skills:
Experience with piping systems, valves, pumps, tanks/vessels, & instrumentation/controls instruments
Experience with structural steel or skid design
