POSITION: Research Associate
A position is immediately available within our Research group for a Research Associate to support in vitro and vivo drug potency studies and assist existing research efforts. The successful candidate under the direction of a supervisor is responsible for data collection, analysis, and other in vitro and in vivo related tasks.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct literature reviews
- Collect and analyze data
- Maintain accurate records of data, safeguarding the confidentiality of subjects, as necessary
- Summarize experiment and data
- Provide ready access to all experimental data for the team researcher and/or supervisor
- Request or acquire equipment or supplies necessary for the project
- Manage and respond to project related emails
- Prepare progress reports for the PI and PD, QC and manufacturing
- Prepare other articles, reports, and presentations
- Monitor the project reagents and materials
- Tissue harvesting and submitting samples for histology
- RNA/DNA isolation from cells or tissues
- Flow cytometry analysis; and
- Perform PCR, qRT-PCR, or other basic molecular biology techniques
- A bachelor’s degree preferably in the biological sciences (or experience in biology research)
- Ability to work as part of a team are required and to complete experiments, analyze data and provide results to end-users in a timely fashion is required
- 2+ years of sterile tissue culture experience
- Cell culture and molecular biology skills are required.
- Experience with flow cytometry, functional assays, DNA, RNA and protein analysis is preferred
- Previous experience with handling small animals (e.g. rodents) is preferred
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize work
