  • Responsibilities

    Oversees the planning, development, implementation, and administration of all finance and accounting activities; including FP&A, creating, implementing and managing policies, compliance, managing performance and risk, training leadership and staff, planning and reporting on financial and budgeting performance, cash management, evaluating and reporting on Accounts Receivable and Payable, identifying opportunities to negotiate with vendors and then supporting the process of negotiations, and ultimately improving financial processes to drive the goals of CARE Counseling forward.

    PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    •    Provides oversight for all finance and accounting programs, systems and policies, ensuring they are current, competitive, within financial constraints, and in compliance with legal requirements.
    •        Works directly with the COO to advise on organizational finance matters and partner in the creation and achievement of strategic goals.  Ensure implementation of goals and tactics within the organization to achieve desired outcomes.
    •        Coach and counsel leaders and managers as needed, identifying areas which would benefit from additional finance related training.
    •        Collaborate with other leaders with budgeting and finance related initiatives while delivering and overseeing the finance-related portion of orientation for any required staff so employees are oriented and introduced to the company in a manner consistent with our mission and values.
    •        Responsible for the necessary activities associated with processing and tracking Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Cash Management.
    •        Evaluate and review integrity of data in the Accounting, Billing, and Bill Pay systems making recommendations to determine where improvements can be made.
    •        Manage relationships with vendors who provide finance support ensuring exceptional service, financial needs and objectives are met.
    •        Evaluate relationships with vendors who provide CARE services.
    •        Responsible for partnering on the development and delivery of the organization's compensation programs which includes creating and maintaining job descriptions, market pricing, communications, reviewing salary adjustments and providing training and coaching to others, as needed.
    •        In partnership with other leaders, establish proper authority relationships among members of the work group and create a congenial work environment.
    •        Attend all required and assigned meetings and trainings.
    •        Attendance in office can be an essential function of this position.
    •        Other duties as assigned.

          

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    •        The ability to pass Criminal Background Screening. 
    •        The ability to pass the screening required by Federal Human Services Office of Inspector General to assure that person has not been excluded from working in the Health Care Programs which receive federal funding.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    •        Bachelor's degree or equivalent in management, human resources, social services or related degree.
    •        Preference given to candidates with a Master's degree.  
    •        Minimum ten years of financial leadership experience required.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS:

    •        Excellent oral, written, interpersonal and communication skills.
    •        Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from internal and external stakeholders which includes executives, program staff, managers, donors and sponsors.
    •        Ability to use personal computer and standard business and other work related software with minimal instruction.
    •        Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, reports, governmental regulations and other development and financial related materials.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  

    •        While performing the duties of this position the person is regularly required to walk, bend, crouch and successfully demonstrate the ability to write and use a personal computer.
    •        Successful performance requires vision abilities to read files, reports, and other work-related forms in both paper and electronic format.
    •        Employees in this position may need to regularly lift at least 10 lbs. and up to 50 pounds occasionally and may need to exert themselves while performing the above-mentioned duties.
    •        Ability to drive a car to perform and/or attend work-related functions.  Employee will be reimbursed mileage according to the corporate reimbursement schedule if using a personal vehicle for work related purposes.  Position may require that employee has their own reliable transportation.
