In this temporary 6 month role, you'll process applications and provide essential assistance to those in need. A Day in the Life

As a CARES Eligibility Specialist, your day will primarily involve working on a computer to process applications for energy assistance. Residents submit their applications both online and on paper, and you'll be responsible for scanning, inputting data, evaluating completeness, and determining eligibility. Your duties include issuing letters and emails to applicants with further instructions or updates. While most of your communication with applicants and utility providers will be via phone or email, you'll play a crucial behind-the-scenes role in ensuring that applications are processed efficiently and accurately. Collaboration with your small team is essential to meet daily processing targets and maintain the high standards of service our community relies on.

You Would Thrive in this Position If

• You have a high school diploma or GED and 1-2 years of customer service experience.
• You possess strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with scanning and managing various file types.
• You are adept at learning and consistently applying detailed rules and processes.
• You excel in a fast-paced environment and can maintain a high level of concentration.
• You can meet quality standards and production goals with minimal oversight.
• You have excellent communication skills and can work effectively with diverse participants, especially in high-stress situations.
• You are committed to maintaining client confidentiality and have reliable transportation.
