  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    • Conduct screening and assessment in accordance with the use of validated screening tools to screen and assess for depression, trauma, substance use, and risk and needs associated with criminal risk
    • Use evidenced sequential screening for risk of violence and closely monitor risk and utilize risk management protocols to appropriately manage and intervene to effectively serve high risk clients
    • Coordinate care with CASES psychiatrists, nurse practitioner, and administrative staff and closely coordinates with others including criminal justice staff (e.g., ATI staff/probation officers) involved in providing services to your client
    • Develop recovery-oriented treatment plans and reviews in collaboration with the client, collaterals, and consented stakeholders such as significant others, criminal justice personnel, primary health care provider, care coordinator, and schools
    • Ensure the provision of evidence-based services, such as cognitive behavioral therapy
    •  Assertively outreach clients to engage them in group psychotherapy services
    • Provide person-centered, recovery-focused, trauma-informed, and culturally humble care
    • Provide clinical assessment, treatment planning, and crisis intervention services as needed
    • Complete all documentation in the electronic health record in a timely and comprehensive manner
    • Participate in clinical supervision, relevant trainings, and staff meetings
    • Meet minimum productivity standards to become eligible for bonus payments
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Active LCSW license in NYS
    • Understanding and Navigating NYC Criminal Legal System
    • Therapist will be expected within six months of employment to receive the Integrated Mental Health/Addictions Treatment Training Certificate (IMHATT).
    • 1 to 3 years of experience providing psychotherapy services at an outpatient mental health clinic
    • Expert-level competence in evidence-based group psychotherapy for adolescents and adults
    • Knowledge of OMH Article 31 (Part 599) regulations
    • Prior experience documenting therapy services in an electronic health record
    • Active CASAC or experience providing substance use counseling preferred
    • Bilingual Spanish-speaking preferred
    • Strong commitment to social justice and the CASES mission
