  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    • Manage the operations of the ACES multidisciplinary team—community outreach specialist, criminal justice specialist, work readiness instructor, family specialist, employment specialist, housing specialist, enrichment specialist, health specialist therapist, job developer, and work crew supervisor
    •  Lead team to fully implement the ACES program and achieve targeted benchmarks and outcomes
    •  Attract, develop, coach, and retain high-performance team members, empowering them to elevate their competence, impact, and performance
    •  Promote staff development and competence through training, coaching and structured supervision in motivational interviewing, youth development, engagement, young adult learning, education and employment for youth and young adults, and trauma-informed care
    • Facilitate cohesive team functioning that enables staff to perform and deliver services to the highest level
    •  Maintain an open and supportive work environment that identifies staff development needs and measurable plans and objectives for staff to acquire core skills aligned to the fidelity of the program
    •  Advance the program’s mission and values and adherence to fidelity standards
    •  Achieve annual intake goals through effective community and neighborhood outreach and stage-wise engagement with participants
    •  Serve as leading champion and ambassador for the no-drop policy (this program adopts the philosophy that participants are never considered to have "dropped out" of ACES) facilitating staff to achieve slow and gradual participant engagement
    •  Conduct and deliver services to participants as a member of the multidisciplinary team
    •  Ensure appropriate levels and types of programming to meet participants’assessed needs and timelines
    •  Implement quality, diverse and career-based vocational training and employment programming including information technology, media, and trade to create pathways for participant economic security
    •  Lead effective use of Exponents Salesforce case management database
    •  Ensure on time and quality data completion to promote real time data reporting and performance measurement
    •  Work with director on the planning and implementation of continuous quality improvement activities that utilize effective performance management and metrics and utilize program data to inform staff supervision and staff meetings
    •  Act as an escalation contact for staff in addressing complex and risk management situations, ensuring staff and participant safety and effective action and solutions informed by crisis intervention, resolution, and knowledge to disrupt and respond to threats and potential violence
    •  Coordinate with Cure Violence neighborhood providers and leaders
    •  Implement processes to incorporate participant feedback and input into program services
    •  Attend community meetings and develop relationships with formal and informal local and neighborhood representatives to advance the program
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of experience in youth development and/or criminal justice field
    •  2 years of supervisory experience
    •  Knowledge of Harlem and South Bronx neighborhoods, with preference to candidates with an innate understanding and personal knowledge of one of these communities
    •  A belief and interest in working collaboratively with Harlem and South Bronx communities, youth and families
    •  Unwavering commitment to quality programs
    •  Strong communication skills, both written and oral
