CASES is a New York City leader at the forefront of alternatives to incarceration, a key solution for a fairer criminal justice system.

    Are you passionate about advancing the best solutions for justice? The Project Manager - Nonprofit will join the program management team coordinating the expansion of pretrial services. This new role will manage areas of planning and execution necessary for the implementation of pretrial justice in Manhattan. CASES seeks an organized leader with planning, project management and program startup experience. We need a detailed-oriented leader who is inspired by the challenge of launching a large-scale initiative. The successful candidate will possess the skills to explore problems from every angle, drive to collaborate with staff at all levels of the agency, and the initiative and optimism to execute this groundbreaking initiative.

    WHAT YOU WILL DO

    • Develop plans and processes to effectively expand Pretrial Services.  Direct, coordinate, implement, execute, control and complete project, while remaining aligned with strategy, commitments and goals of the organization.
    • Create project plan, administer everyday workflow of all implementation processes and provide support to all team members.
    • Coordinate with team to resolve all issues within required time frame and recommend appropriate changes to all policies and procedures.  Evaluate and adjust implementation for team, as needed.
    • Maintain all project plans and ensure compliance to time frame.  Collaborate with stakeholders for all implementation processes.

    CANDIDATES SHOULD POSSESS:

    • A commitment to working hard for justice for NYC residents involved in the criminal justice system
    • Excellent critical-thinking, decision-making and leadership capabilities
    • A track record in project planning and project management, meeting deadlines and budget expectations
    • Ability to look at the big picture and all the small details
    • Experience and broad knowledge of the criminal justice system and bail reform policy and practice is preferred but not necessary
    • Competence in planning and change management
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • The ability to present ideas cogently to a broad range of stakeholders and brief the team on how to carry out the implementation plan
    • Experience in working creatively with a variety of partners, including members of government, program staff, community-based organizations, and criminal justice professionals
    • Skill in driving forward projects or threads of work within complex initiatives
    • Ability to meet challenges with equanimity and to overcome them whenever possible
    • Track record as a team player and creative problem-solver
    •  Appreciation for the importance of empirical analysis in program design and implementation
    • Flexibility and a sense of humor
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Master’s Degree from an accredited college in business administration, project management, criminal justice or other related field with at least three (3) years of related work experience or a bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience and preferably a post-bachelor’s certificate in project management. 
    • Advanced proficiency in project management, such as Microsoft Project or equivalent
    • Effective writing skills with proven ability to create detailed reports and plans
