    SCIENTIST/SENIOR SCIENTIST, BIOINFORMATICS PROGRAMMER

Utilizing DNA to write, store, read, and compute on data requires cutting-edge technologies for DNA sequencing and state-of-the-art analyses of the resulting data.     WHAT YOU WILL DO:

    • Develop and validate custom NGS processing and analysis pipelines for reading and computing on data stored in DNA
    • Own and optimize the decoding pipeline that translates sequencing reads to the original data
    • Collaborate with molecular biology and hardware teams to run and implement changes to our end-to-end platform
    • Analyze data, present findings, and make recommendations to internal and external stakeholders as the bioinformatics subject matter expert
    • Publish peer-reviewed articles and file patents on our team’s achievements and ideas

    REQUIRED SOFT SKILLS:

    • Creative and proactive problem solver
    • Dependable team player with strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Quick learner who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment

    IDEAL BACKGROUND:

    • PhD or MS in bioinformatics, computer science, computational biology, genomics, or a related field
    • Experience in the development of novel methods for NGS data analysis is a must
    • Advanced skills in multiple high-level programming languages (e.g., Python, C++, R) and biostatistics
    • Demonstrated experience in technology development with ambitious timelines and deliverables
    • Past experience with wet lab molecular biology techniques (e.g., PCR/qPCR, DNA assembly methods, sequencing library preparation) is preferred
