    Job Description

Seeking part-time help for our busy Open Enrollment season, which runs October through end of the year. Our intention is to find the right fit ...someone who enjoys working in a friendly, fun office, believes in and exemplifies our core values, and is here to service and assist our clients and referrals. We are hoping to find someone who will not only help at year-end but can be a permanent employee year-round for our growing agency.

We are a local, woman-owned insurance brokerage firm focusing on health insurance and employee benefits for small businesses as well as Medicare coverage. Our Medicare business is growing by leaps and bounds, and we are looking for someone to assist us not just at the end of the year during the annual Open Enrollment for Medicare, but to assist clients and those turning 65 throughout the course of the year.

Knowledge of health insurance, and specifically Medicare, is extremely helpful but not required. We are willing to train and teach the right person, someone who can learn and grasp insurance quickly and has a great attitude and willingness to learn. Office hours are Mon - Friday 9 am - 5 pm, and we are looking for someone to work 25-30 hours for 4th quarter, and most likely 20-25 hours year round. We can be flexible with structuring the hours during our regular business hours. Starting pay range is $16-$18/hour, depending on experience.

Requirements include experienced phone skills (ability to talk and communicate to clients on the phone to assist with their needs), a good basic knowledge of common computer programs (Microsoft programs Word, Excel, Outlook), ability to work and communicate with other office staff and willing to assist in any and all areas to help the office and our clients. We are looking for someone that can be trained quickly, but after given direction, can work on their own and troubleshoot small tasks; however, they need to be willing to ask for assistance and guidance when needed. As mentioned, a knowledge of Medicare and health insurance is not a requirement but would be extremely helpful for the position.

Our office is located in an office building in the industrial park of Elmhurst, IL, and the position is working in the office each day. We are hoping to find someone who lives close to the office with a short commute. NOTE: Masks are required in the building and public areas; they can be removed when working at your work desk or station. Our office is not currently holding client meetings in the office; all current client meetings are done by Zoom or phone calls; however, we do have client's drop off applications on occasion.

    Company Description

Our company has been selling insurance to individuals and businesses for over 32 years! The owner and founder began her carrier with a small life insurance company that offered life, health, and disability insurance; she later became securities license to sell investments. Through the local chamber, and other networking groups, she found her 'niche' working with business owners and other entrepreneurs, and they all asked her for one thing: Affordable health insurance for them and their employees. Beginning in the early 2000's, she began focusing on health insurance for small business and setting up an online website for those shopping for individual health quotes. The surge in health insurance referrals and new business required the company to partner in 2005 with Advisors to handle the investment side, while CB Health insurance focused on the insurance side of the business. In 2006, the owner became certified to sell the new "Medicare Part D" RX plans for her Medicare eligible clients. As baby-boomers began turning 65 in 2011, the amount of products and options available grew, and Cathy saw a need for helping seniors to understand and simplify this complicated topic of Medicare and to help individuals enroll in the best options that suited their needs. With the implementation of the ACA law and the Obamacare plans in 2014, many insurance agents scrambled to keep up with all the rules, regulations, and changes in the law. While many agents and insurance offices chose to pivot, focus on new markets, stop selling health insurance, or leave the industry entirely, CB Health Insurance remained committed to helping individuals and businesses understand these changes, how the law affected them, and to assist them in shopping for the best plans that suited their needs. In 2021 CB Health Insurance again partnered with a local firm to assist in servicing and selling individual health policies so we can focus on our growing core business: Employee benefits for small businesses (2-50 EE's) and Medicare for people turning 65.
