    Job Description

    PRIMARY PURPOSE: Assembles and verifies loan documents for completion and accuracy.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

    • Practice CBC core values:

    • Provide administrative support to Loan Sales Team and underwriters in the facilitation of loan application from initial submission to funding.

    • Ensure that loan files contain documents with proper signatures, dates, and other relevant data.

    • Quality Control: assemble and verify accuracy of consumer loan documentation.

    • Ensure loan documents are complete and accurate according to company policies and regulatory requirements, including but not limited to checking for proper vesting, legal descriptions, closing dates, and signatures. Ensure each file folder is documented in accordance with written procedure.

    • Perform a variety of clerical duties requiring knowledge of departmental procedures.

    • Answer telephone and written inquiries concerning consumer loan processing and information.

    • Cross-sell credit union products and services as appropriate.

    • Process Indirect loans, and open accounts for the Indirect loans that are sent from the dealerships.

    • Document adverse actions as needed and prepare systems to produce denial letters.

    • Consistently meet established productivity performance standards.

    • Provide exceptional service experience at every point of contact.

    • Maintain proficient knowledge of all credit union and competitor products and services as well as industry trends and benchmarks.

    • Adhere to all local, state and federal laws and regulatory requirements as related to functional areas including Truth in Lending, Reg B, Reg Z and Bank Secrecy Act.

    • Be a leader, role model and team player within the CBC organization

    • Adhere to code of ethics.

    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and ability required of an individual to satisfactorily perform the essential duties of this job.Adept with most current technology and software to approve loans.

    • Proficient in conducting credit analysis, including cash flow, credit reporting and credit investigation. Working knowledge of FICO 2008.
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as credit bureau reports, debt to income ratio reports, policy and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with borrowers and other employees of organization. Able to communicate effectively by telephone.
    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages.
    • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where a considerable amount of standardization exists.
    • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written form, including but not limited to Loan Policy and Procedures, Regulation Z, Section 91 - The Fair Credit Reporting Act, and UCC.
    • Strong commitment to provide excellent member service with a "whatever it takes" attitude.
    • Handle multiple commitments and meet deadlines in a fast-paced sales environment.

    Ability to type a minimum of 40 WPM

    Ability to create basic formulas and calculations in an Excel spreadsheet

    Adept with most current technology and software to approve loans.

    • Possess strong organizational skills with great attention to detail
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: High School diploma or graduate equivalency diploma (GED). Minimum one year of experience with loan processing required or 6-months experience with the credit union's internal loan documents and processes. Applicants must be extremely detail oriented and accurate. Bilingual (Spn) helpful, but not required.

The employee is required to use their hands and fingers for keyboarding. This position is primarily clerical work and requires sitting for prolonged periods of time.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work area is well-lighted, heated and/or air-conditioned indoor office setting with adequate ventilation. The noise level is moderate.

    WORK SCHEDULE: Workweek will be approximately 40 hours with some overtime as needed. Occasional attendance at meetings before or after scheduled hours may be required. Management reserves the right to change any employee's work schedule to meet the operational needs of the Credit Union. Furthermore, management reserves the right to reassign any employee, either temporarily or permanently, to work at another credit union location.

    TRAVEL: Minimal travel required, less than 5%.
