Based in St. Louis, MO, CBD Kratom is a national manufacturer, distributor, and retailer of cannabis and kratom products. As the LOCAL MARKETING SPECIALIST you will create and implement local marketing strategies and initiatives on regional and store levels. This person will work closely with the Brand Manager to implement local initiatives, events, social, content, and promotional efforts for multiple brands. The person in this position will have responsibilities for collaborating with our field management and stores with the goal of growing our brands through active collaboration, guidance and resources, and assistance with implementation to optimize all marketing initiatives and local opportunities for regional and individual store growth.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Create and implement marketing and branding strategies on a regional and store level that correspond with the overall national marketing strategy. Includes sales, promotions, and brand and local initiatives. Create and manage local campaign calendars and local tracking sheets.
- Assist in identification, creation, implementation and analysis of sales tools, offering strategic guidance and forming best practices centered around store awareness and driving traffic.
- Coordinate new store opening marketing strategy and execution by identifying and implementing marketing tactics to drive foot traffic and awareness of new locations. Work closely with store operations and management to ensure successful grand openings.
- Assist in regional and store-level event planning and execution. Collaborate on goals and manage event promotion tactics, measurement of success, and analyze post-event results to evaluate success of marketing efforts and ROI. Work and communicate proactively while collaborating with multiple departments and store management to confirm execution of marketing strategies and initiatives.
- Recommend approved brand initiatives and resources to meet store goals. As needed, create tailored store-level initiatives based on store needs, best practices, market knowledge and research.
- Create and maintain external relationships. Including local partnerships, local chambers, vendors, charities, local influencers, etc.
- Own communications and collaboration with local chambers of commerce to develop and execute store-specific requests and events that are on brand, assist with store awareness, and deliver impact.
- Consistently identify local events, media, and advertising opportunities that can be executed on a store level.
- Ensure local website content is up-to-date at all times.
- Track and provide market research, consumer trends, and competitor analysis.
- Provide regular status on key initiatives, measures and reports progress.
- Performs other marketing priorities, special projects and duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Working knowledge of retail marketing with an understanding of brick and mortar store dynamics and what it takes to create an impact with customers.
- Experience bringing omnichannel marketing plans to life in retail environments. Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic plans and bring them to life locally.
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects while remaining highly collaborative, positively influence all functions of the organization, and clearly understand roles and responsibilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Aptitude for understanding a situation, making recommendations, and applying solutions as problems arise.
- Team mentality and collaborative spirit.
- Effective at working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.
- Ability to adapt to change and assume added responsibilities; continuously work to upgrade knowledge and skills through available reading, courses and seminars.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, G Suite, or related software.
Education and Experience:
- Combination of 2+ years or more of relevant branding and marketing coordination, advising local marketing initiatives, or planning and communication with brick and mortar brand initiatives.
- Bachelor's Degree: Business, Marketing, or related major required. A combination of work experience, training may be substituted for a degree.
