Job Description

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

·        Oversee all media and public relations activities, including press releases, media advisories, and announcements. Identify and generate storyline opportunities.

·        Develop, coordinate, and promote support for CBIA's public policy initiatives among all appropriate audiences, utilizing grassroots, media, and other outreach efforts.

·        Develop and disseminate content for multiple communication platforms, including podcast, video, radio, web, social media, print, and other outlets.

·        Coordinate all social media efforts, setting strategic direction, execution, integration, and establishing performance metrics and reporting.

·        Help execute public awareness and outreach campaigns, including strategy, script development, and production.

·        Raise awareness of positive business impacts throughout Connecticut utilizing appropriate platforms and channels.

·        Develop and maintain relationships with traditional and new media outlets, and with allied business and professional organizations.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

·        Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or related field

·        3+ years’ experience and proven success in a similar role

·        Knowledge of state-specific public policy issues, particularly as the impact on businesses and the economy.

·        Experience with social media dashboards, HTML, and content management systems, specifically WordPress.

·        Podcasting experience a plus, including production and interviewing experience.

·        Strong analytical, creative, and decision-making skills.

·        Strong persuasive communication skills, both oral and written.

·        Strong attention to detail.

·        Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
