    Coca-Cola Bottlers’ Sales and Services (CCBSS) is a limited liability company owned by 65+ U.S. independent Coca-Cola Bottlers. CCBSS supports operations for the Coca-Cola bottlers as well as bottler-owned production cooperatives, the North American Division of The Coca-Cola Company and other participating beverage partners across the Coca-Cola System. Since 2003, CCBSS has provided a single voice for the North American Coca-Cola System to customers and suppliers through our Customer Business Solutions and Procurement divisions. In partnership with key stakeholders, CCBSS leverages the size and scale of the Coca-Cola System to drive maximum value and competitive advantage for the system.

    CCBSS has approximately 250 associates across multiple divisions and functions including Procurement, Customer Business Solutions, External Relations, Finance, IT, Legal and Human Resources.

    CCBSS Procurement is the system cooperative that manages ~70% of North American spend by providing one face to our suppliers. Procurement manages over 150 categories to the North American Coca-Cola system such as Packaging, Coolers, Production equipment, Ingredients and Fleet services. These services enable seamless coordination between suppliers, Coca-Cola Bottlers, and markets with the goal of providing a competitive advantage in everything they do.

    POSITION DESCRIPTION

    The Chief Procurement Officer is responsible for all aspects of the Procurement organization and accountable for achieving the objectives defined in the 3 year CCBSS strategic plan, the annual CCBSS and Procurement business plans. The position reports directly to the President and CEO of CCBSS with accountability to the Bottler Procurement Advisory Committee and the CCBSS Board of Directors. This role requires collaboration with leaders across the North American Coca-Cola bottling system, Coca-Cola North America (CCNA) and Suppliers in order to serve our customers in the areas of value creation, risk mitigation, and delivering a competitive advantage. This role sets the vision and strategy for the Procurement team and ensures a cost effective, efficient and responsive operation.

    The successful candidate requires strong people leadership, strategic and analytical capabilities. This role currently has 8 direct reports, approximately 58 total FTE, $14 million budget, and over nine (9) billion dollars in spend. The successful candidate must also work closely and collaboratively with several other important Coca-Cola system enabling entities including: Coca-Cola North America, National Product Supply Group (NPSG), KO Political Action Group, etc. Establishing credibility and a productive relationship will be critical to this role.

    The ideal candidate will demonstrate leadership with the ability to shape the culture, develop the people, provide strategic direction, partner across multiple stakeholders, drive innovation and lead through change. In addition, he/she will possess a high degree of integrity, Coca-Cola system knowledge and business acumen while demonstrating and modeling the CCBSS Leadership Behaviors and Values. Successful execution of this role and the related responsibilities with require a high level of technical expertise, strong leadership skills, strong strategic thinking skills and significant EQ skills. Knowledge of the North American Coca-Cola system is preferred.

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

    • Strategic Procurement

      • Ensuring Procurement delivers value to the Coke system and its customers as related to improved Return on Investment
      • Identify and mitigate supply chain and financial and commodity risks that exist in our inbound supply chains
      • Accountability to ensure financial transparency into Bottler and revenue growth management (RGM) financial routines
      • Ensure continuous improvement in supplier quality and service
      • Develop short and long-term strategies that jointly creates value with the supply base
      • Accountability for ensuring that solutions drive profitable volume growth and enhanced customer solutions for the Coke system
      • Develop short and long-term strategies that leverage value added processes or recommend new processes that will create value for the Coke system and it customers
      • Develop and lead the yearly planning process to meet the needs of all Coke system planning processes (Bottlers, Suppliers, TCCC, CCNA, CCBSS)
      • Negotiate and prioritize all business needs to be supported by Procurement
      • Recommend the strategic direction for Procurement
      • Develop and lead the Advisory Committees and PAC
      • Identify key leaders and influencers across the Coca-Cola system to gain insights, set vision and influence outcomes.
      • Work closely with key constituencies across the system to gain consensus regarding strategy development and operational execution
    • Executive Constituent Management across the Coca-Cola System

      • Provide subject matter expertise on markets/suppliers/supply chain processes…primary executive for providing insights to customer needs in these areas
      • Be a leading change agent for the Coke system and the way we go to market with our suppliers as related to supply chain and financial risk management
      • Serve as the primary liaison to Coke system executive management who are stakeholders of the Procurement organization (Bottler Presidents and VPs)
    • Strategic Projects

      • Accountability to the Coke system investors to ensure the operating companies effectively deliver quality services and solutions with the highest NPV and ROI at the lowest cost
      • Develop a clear and concise methodology for strategy, business process re-engineering, solution design, and implementation
      • Lead a team that manages large, cross functional teams across business, supply chain, IT and consulting resources using a standard methodology
      • Develop and hold teams accountable for measuring results against new processes and solutions and develop score carding capabilities for continued ROI reporting
      • Manage relationships with all third party consultants that assist with the development of solutions

      • Promote positive change in the organization and across the Coke system
      • Create and communicate an inspiring vision for the organization
      • Lead a high performing team of business resources (~58) to deliver value to the Coke system
      • Support all career development and talent development processes including performance management

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

    • Ten-fifteen years of experience within the Coca-Cola system and/or Procurement
    • Managing large complex strategic projects from business case and process design through to implementation required
    • Ten years of operations (sales, supply chain, or business services) preferred
    • Building high performing teams
    • Driving culture change in a newly formed company
    • Experience leading and building data and analytics capability
    • Providing leadership and direction to a large organization
    • Participating on company boards or executive steering committees preferred
    • Understanding of anti-trust legislation and how to operate in a competitive environment with a focus on sustainability

    EDUCATION REQUIRED

    • Bachelor’s Degree required
