Job Description

The Ammonia Refrigeration Technician is responsible for operation, inspection, and repair of ammonia refrigeration systems in a Frozen Food Manufacturing Environment in accordance with IIAR and RETA standards, state and local building codes, and required safety regulations, while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to policies and procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist in maintaining documentation for PSM and RMP within the limits set by OSHA and EPA.
• Must be able to troubleshoot, maintain and manage systems of 10,000 lbs. or above of ammonia, read and interpret schematics, P&ID drawings, Blueprints, and flow diagrams.
• Must have a strong aptitude for troubleshooting mechanical/electrical issues, ability to handle multiple and complex tasks, awareness and knowledge of surroundings in relation to climate, atmosphere, and equipment.
• Ability to work variable shifts, weekends, and/or holidays.
• Exposure and experience with Process Safety Management, Risk Assessment/Management and Hazmat is beneficial.

Qualifications

• Must have at least six (6) months work experience within the last 12 months to be considered for this position.
• Four year college degree desired.
• RETA 2 certification or equivalent;
• Must be able to pass CIRO test within one year of employment.
• Three (3) to five (5) years ammonia refrigeration experience.
• Must have experience and strong knowledge of Process Safety Management, Risk Management, and Hazmat programs.
• Must be able to stand for the duration of the shift (8 hours).
• Able to lift 50 pounds.
• Must have effective written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Must be willing to complete all required training for the job. On call duties to include nights and weekends (when necessary)

Additional Information

Salary Range - $59,072 - $84,448

Sign On Bonus - $2,000
