    Location: Lincoln, NE (Must be willing to work in the office. We are willing to allow work from home occasionally but not 100% remote)

    Type: Contract W2 or 1099

    Duration: 9 months (12/01/2020 - 09/30/2021)

    Description:

    The purpose of this position is to formulate, define and carry out activities related to the administration of data and/or databases. Apply full technical knowledge of all phases of data/database administration to develop, maintain and project long-range requirements for data/database administration and design. Lead a team of technology professionals and direct their work.

    Knowledge, Skills and Ability required: (These are needed to perform the work assigned.)

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology/Computer Science or 4 years of related technical and business experience.
    • Experience in database administration, and in working with health related data preferred.
    • Knowledge of database hardware including backup, recovery, operating systems, logical and physical design, infrastructure, storage capacity and data warehousing methods, hardware and software including applications and programming.
    • Common query languages, data mining and storage, data administration and data standardization methods.
    • Establishing database system requirements, analyzing database performance and modifying database configuration to correct problems.
    • Ability to work well within a team environment and have exceptional collaborative skills.
    • Create reports, dashboards and manipulate data in response to customer requirements, and generate complex queries and reports.
    • Experience in providing leadership to coordinate work efforts, make assignments, monitor and report on work progress, and mentor staff.

    This contract will run through the end of FFY21: September 30, 2021 with the potential to extend.
