    CDL-A Local Intermodal Driver – Fontana, CA

    Earn $19.25 per hour plus $18.71 per stop on a dedicated local intermodal account serving the Inland Empire and Los Angeles areas. Enjoy daily home time with a 10-hour break, multiple loads per day, and a mix of drop-and-hook, live-load, and live-unload freight.

    Pay & Schedule

    • Hourly Pay: $19.25
    • Stop Pay: $18.71 per stop
    • Average Loads: 3–6 per day
    • Schedule Options: Sunday–Thursday or Tuesday–Saturday
    • Shift: Night shift
    • Home Time: Daily, with a 10-hour break
    • Driving Hours: Typically up to 11 hours; shifts may extend to the full 14-hour duty window based on freight demand
    • Short-Haul Pay: Not available
    • Bonus: None offered

    Job Details

    • Dedicated local intermodal container operation
    • Routes throughout the Inland Empire and Los Angeles area
    • Operate from five intermodal ramps serving Long Beach, Los Angeles, Commerce, City of Industry, and Bloomington
    • Some runs travel north through the Grapevine to the Shafter and Lebec areas
    • Average 1,500 miles per week
    • Combination of drop-and-hook, live loads, live unloads, and preloaded freight
    • No driver-assist unloading
    • Slip-seat operation; trucks are parked at the San Bernardino yard
    • Auto-dispatch account; drivers do not choose their routes
    • Northern deliveries and pickups are mandatory when assigned

    Job Requirements

    • Valid Class A CDL
    • Minimum 3 months of verifiable Class A CDL experience
    • Clean driving record
    • Valid DOT Medical Card
    • No SAP drivers
    • Must be comfortable operating intermodal containers secured on chassis
    • Must be available for the assigned night schedule and required routes
    • Must be able to work within the applicable driving and duty-hour limits
