- Approximately 1,409 miles per week
- Double dock pay available
Job Details
- Deliver fresh and frozen groceries in 48', 51', and 53' reefer trailers
- Delivery area within approximately 250 miles of Chester, NY
- Routes cover the Hudson Valley, Long Island, NYC, NJ, CT, and parts of PA
- Approximately 20-25% of freight delivers in NYC
- Multi-stop routes with approximately 15+ stops per week
- Typically 2 loads per day or one long load
- Mostly no-touch freight; customer unloads while driver assists
- May pick up returns or backhauls at the final stop
- Support other nearby accounts approximately 2-3 days per week
- Pallet jack unloading may be required when supporting other accounts
Shift Details
- 5-day workweek
- Monday, Thursday-Sunday
- Off Tuesday-Wednesday
- Start times: 1:00 AM-5:00 AM
- 2 mandatory 6th days per month
- Additional 6th days required around major holidays
- Home daily
- Holiday work required when scheduled and the account is operating
- Thanksgiving and Christmas off; New Year's Day not guaranteed
Job Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL
- Minimum 3 months of verifiable CDL-A experience
- Clean driving record
- DOT Medical Card
- No SAP drivers
- Reliable personal transportation to and from work daily
- Strong customer service skills
- Willingness to support other local accounts as needed
Equipment & Training
- Automatic and manual day cabs
- Slip seating required
- Trucks cannot be taken home
- Uniforms provided and maintained
- New drivers must train with NYC-certified trainers before solo NYC routes
- Drivers will not run NYC until they have been on the account for 6 months or longer
