    CDL-A Semi-Local Battery Freight Driver – Good Pay + $10K Bonus

    Earn $92,500 per year hauling battery freight on a dedicated semi-local route from Columbus, Ohio. Drivers are typically home every other day, with additional pay for driver-assist and customer-unloaded stops.

    Pay Details

    • Average Annual Pay: $92,500
    • Average Weekly Pay: Approximately $1,779
    • Bonus: $10,000
    • Miles/Week: Approximately 2,400
    • Driver-assist unload: $60 per stop
    • Customer live load/unload: $30 per stop
    • PTO accrual begins immediately:
      • 1.5 hours per week initially
      • 2.3 hours per week after 6 years
      • 3 hours per week after 19 years

    Job Details

    • Pick up preloaded trailers containing batteries and cells from a distribution center.
    • Deliver freight to various distribution centers and reload battery cores for the return trip.
    • Routes vary weekly, so flexibility is required.
    • Freight is approximately 50% driver-assist and 50% customer live unload.
    • Driver-assist stops require tailgating freight with an electric pallet jack.
    • Secure loads after each stop and complete delivery and return paperwork.
    • Scale loads and follow all customer procedures.
    • Assist other dedicated and intermodal accounts when freight volume is low.
    • Maintain strong safety, service, and customer-care standards.
    • Uniform shirts are provided.
    • Steel-toe boots are required and may be provided or reimbursed.

    Shift Details

    • Sunday–Friday schedule
    • Departure times vary between 8:00 PM and 3:00 AM
    • Approximately 11–12-hour shifts
    • Route runs Sunday night through Friday night/Saturday morning
    • Return by approximately 4:00 AM Saturday
    • Home every other day for more than a 10-hour break
    • Drivers can typically expect home time on Tuesday and Thursday
    • Trucks must remain at the account during time off

    Job Requirements

    • Valid Class A CDL
    • Minimum 3 months of verifiable Class A CDL experience
    • DOT Medical Card
    • Clean driving record
    • No SAP drivers
    • Ability to perform driver-assist unloading with an electric pallet jack
    • Ability to scale and secure loads
    • Flexibility to work varying routes and support other accounts
    • Professional appearance and strong customer service skills
    • Steel-toe boots required
