CDL Shuttle Drivers – Join Our Professional Transportation Team
Serving Duval, Clay, St. Johns, and Nassau Counties
As a CDL Shuttle Driver, you’ll be responsible for the safe, reliable, and timely transportation of passengers along assigned routes. You'll operate company vehicles across multiple counties, following scheduled routes and ensuring a high standard of customer service and safety. This position may involve varied duties depending on the route, vehicle type, and passenger needs.
Key Responsibilities of a CDL Shuttle Driver:
Operate shuttle buses safely and in compliance with all traffic laws, DOT regulations, and company policies
Maintain a professional, courteous attitude when assisting passengers and providing information about routes, fares, and schedules
Adhere to assigned time schedules and route instructions
Assist passengers with disabilities, including operating lifts and securing wheelchairs
Ensure valid fare collection and report fare discrepancies
Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections
Report incidents, accidents, or mechanical issues promptly and accurately
Maintain communication with dispatch, supervisors, and emergency personnel via radio
Compliance & Training:
Follow all ADA requirements related to public transit services
Complete all mandatory safety training and certifications
Remain in compliance with company policies and FTA/DOT regulations
Minimum Requirements:
At least 24 years of age
Valid Florida CDL Class A, B, or C with Passenger endorsement
Clean driving record (no more than 2 violations in 5 years, or 3 years of clean driving)
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior commercial or transit driving experience
Familiarity with Florida traffic laws and local roadways
Skills & Abilities:
Effective verbal and written communication in English
Ability to operate wheelchair lifts, emergency exits, and bus safety equipment
Strong problem-solving and decision-making in urgent or passenger-related situations
Knowledge of public transit rules or willingness to learn
Friendly, dependable, and safety-conscious
Work Conditions:
Flexible schedule, including split shifts and varying days off
Exposure to all weather conditions and driving environments
Ability to sit for extended periods and perform physical tasks like lifting up to 25 lbs, bending, squatting, and operating vehicle features
