    Job Description

    CDR Maguire Inc., a national emergency management firm, is seeking GIS Supervisor qualified according to the National Qualification System (NQS) for on the west coast.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    1. Establishes or transitions into a unit or team under the Planning Section
    2. Configures team to support operations as necessary
    3. Provides oversight for GIS activities of multiple GIS teams during expanding and complex incidents
    4. Manages the NIMS Type 1 GIS Analyst and coordinates staffing and resources to support mission-specific needs and activities

    REQUIREMENTS

    1. Ability to commit to a 4-week assignment in Salem, Oregon
    2. Physically able to work under disaster conditions
    3. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
    4. Ability to work professionally, effectively, and efficiently in a team environment with various stakeholders
    5. Must submit to and pass a drug test.
    6. Must submit to and pass a background check.
    7. Provide Form I-9 supporting documentation that proves your identity and eligibility to work in the United States
    8. Functioned in this position during an operational incident, planned event, exercise, drill, or simulation within the past 3 years
    9. Understanding of uses common location reference systems, including United States National Grid (USNG), latitude/longitude, and other appropriate location languages in support of disaster operations
    10. Ability to acquire data for GIS software, including coordinating Memorandums of Understanding (MOU) for event imagery and other local data
    11. Ability to acquire and evaluate different map types and data sources to understand limitations and present the most useful information
    12. Knowledge to provide oversight, guidance, and direction for the use of predictive models such as Hazus Multi-Hazards, chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN), and Wildland Fire Behavior Modeling in producing maps, analysis, and reports for situational awareness and decision-making
    13. Current knowledge and skills regarding in the use and application of the latest GIS technology and certifications used in the industry
    14. Experience:
      • Practical GIS experience
      • Experience in a management position in public safety, emergency management, or a GIS team, including familiarity with GIS industry-standard methods and processes to manage GIS resources and produce GIS products and services
      • Successful experience as a Type 1 GIS Analyst on a deployment, incident, or training exercise, including tabletops with previous experience

    15.Completion of the following:

    • IS-100: Introduction to the Incident Command System, ICS-100

    • IS-200: Basic Incident Command System for Initial Response, ICS-200

    • ICS-300: Intermediate Incident Command System for Expanding Incidents

    • IS-700: National Incident Management System, An Introduction

    • IS-800: National Response Framework, An Introduction

    • IS-922: Applications of GIS for Emergency ManagementIS-2900: National Disaster Recovery Framework (NDRF) Overview

    • E/L 0964: National Incident Management System Incident Command System All-Hazards Situation Unit Leader Course, or equivalent

    • E/G/L 0191: Emergency Operations Center/Incident Command System Interface

    • Successful completion of the National Qualification System (NQS) Position Task Book (PTB) for the National Incident Management System (NIMS) Geographic Information Systems Supervisor, or equivalent AHJ documentation
