Description of the Job: The Operations Manager is critically important to our growth and success. The Operations Manager is responsible for leading your lawn maintenance crews, bed maintenance crews, landscape enhancement crew leaders and crew members to provide quality landscape maintenance, snow & ice removal and landscape enhancement services to residential and commercial properties safely and efficiently. In addition, Operations Manager must develop the people that report to them. Success in this position is indicated by jobs in which contracts are renewed, jobs completed in the budgeted hours, and low negative turnover of crew members.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Coach, train, and actively develop field personnel
Overall human resource management of field staff. Includes hiring, performance management, training, coaching, mentoring, and development of staff to reach full potential for each individual and the company. Identify and develop crew leaders.
Manages labor to set schedules and oversees all equipment and materials needed to accomplish production needs.
Ensures all work is completed in adherence to safety guidelines.
Conducts weekly safety training and inspections on job-sites.
Supervise employees, oversees attendance records, enforces proper uniform usage and equipment use.
Visit job sites monthly, observing quality and organization of work, identifying and resolving training issues, and taking necessary actions to ensure high quality of work.
Respond to customer complaints ensuring proper handling to achieve excellent customer service.
Maintain day-to-day knowledge of customer contracted services
Monitors budgeted hours versus actual hours and takes appropriate steps to ensure proper tracking is in place and performance requirements are met.
Safe utilization of all company equipment including trucks, lawn maintenance and landscape assets.
Daily review and approve field personnel timesheets
Oversight all aspects of operations and production for landscape maintenance, landscape enhancement and snow removal services to residential and commercial properties
Ensure work is being conducted in a safe manner, and maintain work areas safe for the employee, the customer, public and the environment
Oversight of the branch's fleet of trucks, equipment & tools, making sure they are being maintained in accordance with company approved standards
Ensure proper facility cleanliness and maintenance
Assure facility and its assets are secured at the end of the day
Establishing and promoting positive relationships with local vendors, service partners, local & state agencies, and the general public locally
Always represent the company in a positive and professional manner
Continue to develop and improve skills and techniques through a commitment to continuous improvement
Stay well-informed of changes and advances in the world of commercial landscape maintenance, enhancements and snow & ice management.
Communicate with account manager regarding job site and service issues.
Maintain commercial pesticide applications certification
Be an active part of our training process by attending or conducting certification training sessions on a regular basis.
Plan, schedule and supervise daily production activities on assigned contracts
Develop a clear understanding of the hourly and cost budgets for each of our jobs. Monitor by reviewing job hours, reports, and job costs regularly and taking action as needed. Communicate budget hours to crews.
Ensure work is being conducted safely for the employees, the customers, the public and our environment Landscape maintenance
Participation in 24/7 critical snow and ice management services
Requirements
Valid Driver’s license with acceptable driving record
Able to safely operate commercial vehicles and trucks with trailers
Trainable, coachable, and able to grasp new concepts quickly
Able to work outdoors in different weather conditions
Able to be on call 24/7 during winter season months
Able to handle the physical demands of the position
Be punctual and reliable
Accountability to themselves and to their team

Have a positive and friendly attitude
Professional-level knowledge and experience within the commercial landscape maintenance and snow removal industry (preferred)
Must have management experience and have excellent managerial skills
Extensive knowledge of operations and production management
Be self-motivated, well organized, and strong time management skills
Required to be on call 24/7 during the winter season including weekends and holidays
Must be time flexible, without schedule restrictions
Must have working knowledge of computer programs including Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, and Outlook
